During your consultation, we'll get to know each other on Zoom and agree upon the necessary scope, timeline, and budget to meet any of your creative writing/branding needs. Once we begin, I'll keep you up-to-date on my hourly tracking so there are never any surprises.
Are you hands on or off? Structured or free-flowing? Have existing team members like website designers and SEO experts? No matter how you like to work, I can meet you there. Most of my projects involve a shared Google doc(s) and Canva file(s), which you can monitor any time and will then own once our project has completed.
For projects lasting a week or two, you'll receive an invoice once the work is completed. For ongoing projects, we'll discuss the billing cadence that makes sense for you (typically monthly). You can pay online by credit card, Paypal, Apple Pay, Zelle, or Venmo with payments due within 7-14 days.
Do you offer other options besides $75/hour? Yes, in some cases we can negotiate per project flat rates to align with your budget. Please note: most clients save money when hiring me on an hourly basis because I deliver quality work quickly and efficiently. For example, expert-level writers often charge $1,000+ for articles and press releases and $500 for resumes. I generally complete these projects in 2-5 hours, meaning you pay less than half the average price for the same quality.
What kinds of clients do you work with? I work with small business owners, established brands, start-ups, and individuals. ...In other words: everyone!
What kind of projects do you work on? I most often work on website copy, bios, blog posts, resumes, and presentations. Additional projects include: taglines, brand narratives, brochures, one pagers, letters, speeches, ad copy, social media posts, scripts, memoirs, poetry, greeting cards, and short and long-form fiction. Don't see your project on that list? Schedule a free consultation to talk it through!
Are there any projects you WON'T take on? I will not support any projects that promote violence or hatred or work with clients who display bigotry of any kind. As an ethical vegan, I also don't accept projects that promote the use of non-human animals or animal products.
Do you work with international clients (outside of the U.S.)? Absolutely! I've worked with clients from Canada to New Zealand to everything in between and we have always been able to connect regularly by email and Zoom despite any time zone differences. I use this website to issue invoices and accept credit card payments from any location.
Are you a graphic designer? What tools do you use? I am not a graphic designer and will let you know when your needs exceed my abilities. I use Canva for most of my design work and find this works well because it's a free site that clients can join and then have access/ownership of their files (brochures, business cards, resumes, postcards, logos, etc.). For text-based projects, I typically work with Google docs.
What kinds of payment do you accept? Visa, MC, American Express, Discover, Paypal, and Apple Pay, Maestro, CartesBancaires, JCB, and ChinaUnionPay (all processed online through writewithjules.com). I also accept direct payments via Zelle and Venmo (preferred). Depending on your project, you may be billed upon its completion or on a bi-monthly or monthly billing cycle (for longer-term projects). Payments are due within 7 days of invoice receipt. We will agree upon a payment schedule during your free consultation.
Where are you located? I'm located in Oregon and operate on Pacific Standard Time (PST).
HELP! My project is urgent! No problem - I hear that all the time! As a Project Management Professional, I'm very comfortable in high pressure environments, working with tight timelines. While it may not always be possible, I've often supported clients by completing same-day projects.
